Most Brentwood residents know Brentwood Place at 330 Franklin Road as an errand stop. You park, go into Total Wine or Nordstrom Rack or CVS, and drive home. Since Regency Centers bought the center in March 2025, the storefronts that changed hands have gone to a different kind of tenant.
An indoor pickleball venue now opens its courts at 7 a.m. A breakfast restaurant with house-cured bacon and brunch cocktails is getting ready in a former steakhouse space. A barbecue restaurant is adding a covered smoker porch where a deli stood for 20 years. All of these are places you stay a while. By the holidays, a center known for quick stops will have reasons to spend a whole morning or evening there.
Three storefronts, and where each one stands
Here is the status of each change as of late October 2026:
| Space at Brentwood Place | Previous tenant | New tenant | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Former McAlister's Deli | McAlister's, closed April 2026 after 20 years | Edley's Bar-B-Que | Expected by the end of 2026 |
| Suite 226-B, former Ludlow & Prime | Ludlow & Prime, closure reported January 2025 | Big Bad Breakfast | Sign up, listed as "Coming Soon" |
| Indoor courts and dining | None listed | Crush Yard | Open since spring 2026 |
The anchors are still TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, Total Wine & More, Golf Galaxy, CVS and Stock & Trade, according to Regency Centers' property page. The changes are happening one storefront at a time, and the venue that has been open longest shows the direction most clearly.
Crush Yard put Brentwood Place's earliest hours on the courts
Crush Yard is a pickleball venue with a full restaurant and bar. Its Brentwood location is the company's third in the country. The courts opened first, in mid-May. The kitchen followed about two weeks later, and the venue held its ribbon-cutting on Monday, June 1, with Brentwood Mayor Nelson Andrews. FranklinIs reported that senior event sales manager Alyssa McDaniel described that rollout: "We started with our courts and got everybody in here and playing some pickleball. And then this past week, we got our kitchen open."
The building has eight pickleball courts, according to Williamson Source. It also has golf simulators in a Swing Suite, Dartsee darts, pool tables and Neo Shuffle, which is walk-in only. Hours on Crush Yard's Nashville page:
- Pickleball: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
- Kitchen: noon to 9 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
- Happy hour: 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays, with $5 well cocktails, $5 bottled beer and select wines, and 25 percent off drafts
On weekdays, there are five hours between when the courts open and when the kitchen opens. Those early hours belong to the courts, which makes the morning gap at Brentwood Place the one a breakfast restaurant can fill.
You don't need a membership to play. Open play runs daily, and courts can be reserved by the hour. You can bring your own paddle or rent one. An optional passholder program gives regulars discounts and unlimited soft drinks and coffee on-site. For new players, the venue's pro, Chase Blocker, teaches group classes, private lessons and clinics on specific shots, along with a Beginner 101 class. McDaniel told FranklinIs the venue is meant to be a place where people "can come in and eat some dinner, play some games, and just really hang out."
Big Bad Breakfast is moving into the morning gap
Big Bad Breakfast comes from James Beard Award-winning chef John Currence. It is taking Suite 226-B, which covers 4,450 square feet on Regency's site plan and used to be Ludlow & Prime. Ludlow & Prime closed its Brentwood Place restaurant and moved its operations to its Berry Farms location at 6001 Hughes Crossing in Franklin. Williamson Source reported the closure in January 2025.
The opening date has moved. In August, Currence told WhatNow Nashville he was aiming for mid-October after permitting delays. On October 13, Williamson Source reported the sign was on the building but no exact opening date had been given. The Tennessean's October 25 roundup also said no date had been announced. As of late October, the restaurant's Brentwood page still read "Coming Soon!"
When it opens, the menu centers on in-house cured bacon, hearty skillet dishes and biscuits made fresh daily. Brunch cocktails include a Bloody Mary, mimosas and the Breakfast Dude, which is made with cold brew, cream, vodka, Kahlúa and vanilla. Brentwood will be the chain's fifth Middle Tennessee location, after Franklin, Spring Hill, Nashville and Murfreesboro. Big Bad Breakfast serves breakfast through lunch. Crush Yard's kitchen opens at noon on weekdays, so between them the center will have food from morning into the evening.
Edley's is adding a smoker porch to a 20-year deli space
McAlister's Deli closed at Brentwood Place in April 2026 after 20 years. Edley's Bar-B-Que is moving into the space. Williamson Source reported the restaurant will be about 3,800 square feet with roughly 50 jobs, and it will be Edley's 12th location. Will Newman founded Edley's in Nashville in 2011 and named it after his grandfather, Edley Newman. Brentwood will be its third Williamson County location, after Berry Farms in 2023 and The Factory at Franklin in 2024.
Plans filed by Remick Architecture for the July 6 Planning Commission agenda call for:
- New paint, cladding and awnings, with black accents
- Brick painted gray
- A covered porch at the back for the smoker
The smoker porch is the biggest physical change. A deli kitchen is turning into a barbecue kitchen. Williamson Source's July update said the restaurant was still expected to open by the end of the year.
The same pattern reaches the dog
Yardstick, a luxury dog hotel and spa, signed a lease in October 2025 for more than 7,000 square feet at Brentwood Place. It offers boarding suites, grooming and wellness services, and its opening was planned for spring 2026. Like the courts and restaurants, it is a service that keeps a customer coming back for more than a quick stop. It is listed on Regency's site plan, and anyone planning holiday boarding should call ahead to confirm current availability.
The center already had tenants like this. Crema Coffee Roasters opened its Brentwood café in 2023. New York Butcher Shoppe came from Green Hills with a second location, reported in July 2025. Bruegger's Bagels, Le Creuset and Pure Barre all have spaces on Regency's current site plan. The 2026 arrivals build on what was there.
Two December dates built around the center
The City of Brentwood has scheduled two holiday events three days apart, a Saturday and the Monday after it, at John P. Holt Brentwood Library, 8109 Concord Road. Here is how they could fit with stops at Brentwood Place, using hours currently posted:
- Saturday, December 5, 9 to 11 a.m.: Morning with Santa at the library.
- Saturday, late morning: Crush Yard's kitchen opens at 10 a.m. on weekends, and courts take reservations all day. Golf simulators and pool tables can be booked through the same system.
- Saturday afternoon: errands at New York Butcher Shoppe, Total Wine & More and Le Creuset while you're already parked.
- Monday, December 7, 5:30 to 6 p.m.: the Christmas Tree Lighting at the library. The city's general holiday events page may still show last year's date, but the event's own page lists December 7, 2026.
If Big Bad Breakfast opens before then, it covers the morning before Santa. If Edley's opens before year-end, it covers the evening after the tree lighting.
Brentwood Place's new tenants are also a useful read on what Franklin Road can support in 2026. If you're thinking about how changes like these affect a home nearby, or how to present your own home to buyers who will notice them, High Style Homes can walk you through it. Schedule a Consultation with Carla Patterson to talk it through.
